  • Earth Power by Scott Cunningham
was one of the first books that most directly inspired me to the path I now walk.  It confirmed all the ideas I had already developed, and filled in the blanks in a way that rang true for me.  Scott Cunningham wrote many books before his death.  He has been a huge inspiration for many people and a major influence on the neopagan movement.

Complete Book of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland’s (aka “The Big Blue Book”)
was the first book that I read detailing the religion of Wicca, and was a major inspiration for me.  Although often scoffed at now by some within the Wiccan community, this book brought Wicca out of the shadows and had a huge impact on the craft.

    Positive Magic by Marion Weinstein
is another text that deepened my understanding about spirituality, magic, the craft, and the ties that bind them together.  I was originally introduced to this book as a college textbook for a Women’s Studies class.  This is a solid text from a reputable source.

Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler
... a professional journalist brings her expertise to exploring contemporary Wicca and the neopagan community.  This text is a cornerstone work that had a huge impact on the growth of the craft.  With countless interviews from practitioners across the country, this is a superb overview of the modern practices of Paganism and Witchcraft.

    Spiral Dance by Starhawk
remains another cornerstone resources on my bookshelf.  This books has the depth and breadth to fully explore the subject of neo-paganism.   Containing excellent practical exercises as well as a solid foundation on theory, it should be required reading for anyone who is serious about finding their place in the neopagan community.
