Simply put, knot magick is a form of magick that uses cords and knots to carry and contain magickal intent. If you are looking for a Coven or seeking to connect with other like-minded people, knot magick is a good option to help you. A "Coven Call" is designed to put out a signal, calling the right magical people into your life to learn from and study with.
Both knot magick and Coven Calls take concentration and magical persistence. The overall concept is to make yourself into a "magical beacon" to signal to others of a like-mind. You will set a portion of your person energy into a combination of magnet and homing-beacon, to draw the right energies into your life.
So how is this done? One method involves the time-honored method of Knot Magick. Basically, you sit yourself down and get centered, however you are used to doing this. Get yourself as grounded and focused as you can. Now begin to create a detailed vision of yourself meeting people of like mind. Focus on yourself. Think about how you react to these people, in a positive friendly manner. Think about the joy you feel at making new friends. Think about the kinds of changes in yourself you'd like to see happen as a result of meeting these new people.
What you are basically trying to do is create the appropriate "thought-form" with which to "charge your intent".
Next, you want to begin building personal energy. Have you ever done any chakra exercises where you move energy from point to point? I'll assume that you have, or something similar. Draw energy up from the earth, and allow it to travel up your spine to the crown of your head. Pull in as much energy as you can so that it fills your whole body. Once you feel this energy flowing steadily, program it with your intent. "Flavor" the energy with your coven call. Attach a word to this intent... something simple like "Come" is best.
Repeat this word (or phrase) several times until you feel like this energy is suffused with your intent to find new pagans.
Next, narrow this stream of energy until it is a thin, intensely focused beam of energy. (Instead of a "wide stream" flowing through your whole body, draw it down so that it narrow.) Think of a river that is forced to flow through a narrow channel... it becomes more intense as it is restricted.
Now, with the intent clarified, the energy raised and focused... pick up a piece of string. (cord, yarn, string.. anything really, preferably of natural fibers). Divert the energy stream so that it is flowing down your arms and into you hands. Charge this string with the coven call. Feel the string become an "antenna", carrying the current. When the string has been charged, hold it taut and then tie a knot in it. (This binds the intent).
It is done. Take your string and tie it to your purse, book bag, clothing... anywhere is fine as long as you have it with you and visible most of the day. Periodically, hold the string and send a little burst of energy through it to reinforce your "beacon".
Once a week or so you might wish to do a fuller meditation to re-visualize your intent, but the string should carry the "magical reminder" for you.
Be prepared to meet many different sorts of people. Be open to chance encounters and meaningful exchanges with strangers. You will probably meet people in the most unlikely of places.
