Fire Meditations

The energy of fire,
the heat of the flames,
the desire of my will,
burn within and through my essence.
The light dances along the athame.

draws through the steel,
directed back into the heat of the flames
drawing lines of energy between.

The tip dances in the firelight,
bending the flame with the blade.
Swirls of carbon blacken the metal
as I caress the flickering fire.

My will seeks the heat
and strength within the blade,
I kindle a flame within
and send it out along the edge,
directing it according to will.

The statue of the Horned God looks on.
The flame warms the air I breathe.
I take it in, channeling it
from root to crown
serpent fire awakening.

I cup the flame within my hands,
palms exchanging energy as auras merge,
mine and the corona, our haloes meld
into heat shimmers, shadows melting,
glowing in the heat we create.

The athame stretches forth from the edge
of my arm, the edge
of the blade flashes in the steady glow
of the firelight. The blade sings
to the melody of the flame,

the shifting dance of light reaching
for the tip of steel and heat
to meet and learn of one another,
they know the steps the other dances to.
