Flame’s Firepit Privacy Policy

I recognize and value your privacy, and make a pledge of confidentiality for all visitors to Flame’s Firepit.

Flame’s Firepit is not a commercial site.
It exists solely as a resource to visitors seeking food for thought. As such, the Firepit will never allow corporate advertisers to hijack your attention and disturb your visit. No popups, banner exchanges, or other distractions. I figure you probably get enough of that.

Features Provided by Others:
I do not use cookies in any way to collect information from visitors. The visitor counter on the home page tracks hits from visitors, but no personally identifiable information whatsoever is recorded. It simply generates visitor statistics. Here's their Privacy Policy.

The “Search” feature at the Firepit is a free service powered by FreeFind, and you’ll find corporate sponsored links in addition to search results for the Firepit. According to their privacy policies, they do not collect any identifiable information from users of this service.

The Guestbook is a public forum for sharing your thoughts and comments on the Firepit. You control how much of your personal information you wish to reveal. You may also choose to make your entire comment into a private message to me, Flame. The Guestbook is another free service provided from outside the Firepit. You will encounter their ads while using this service, but they do not collect email addresses or track user data.

Testimonials:
I have a “testimonials” page where I’ve been collecting compliments for several years now. Whenever someone says something particularly heart-warming, I add their comments to the list. I list comments anonymously by “First Name, Last Initial”, or by whatever Internet Pseudonym provided. I never include a full name without permission, and I will never, under any circumstances, reveal a personal email address without direct permission from that person first. If you’d prefer a comment to remain private, simply say so and I’ll honor that.

Flame's Firepit Group at Yahoo!:
As Moderator of the Flame's Firepit group at Yahoo!, these privacy policies apply to that group as well. I post an update letter to this group at each Sabbat to let friends and family know about the latest changes and additions to the Firepit. If you want to get that letter, simply join the list. If you don't want to participate in the discussions, but merely get update notices, set your membership preferences to "Special Notices Only".

I’m committed to helping the Internet remain safe, private, and personal.

If you have any questions or comments about any of this, just ask.
