Why a Firepit?
In many traditional cultures, the Firepit was the hearth, located at the center of the home. It had that place of honor because of its importance to those who lived around it. The firepit was scooped out of Mother Earth, cupping the fire that was placed within. The Flame was sacred to them. Not only did it provide heat, cook the meals, and illuminate the dark, it was the very spark of life.
These days, the firepit continues to be the center of many inspired and lively conversations, especially for us nature-loving Pagans. Fireside conversations offer the substance, depth, and diversity of the Pagan community.
I am Flame RavenHawk, and this is my Firepit. I am a Pagan author who has been teaching and writing about topics of interest to the Pagan community since 1987. The Firepit is where I've gathered original articles of interest to both the beginning seeker and the experienced elder.
I am committed to maintaining this site as a free resource for the Pagan Community, which means I will not accept advertisements of any kind in order to support my efforts here. There will be no plague of pop-ups to spoil your visit. However, I love to give credit where credit is due.
